It always happens when you can’t do anything about it. You notice that loose screw that causes the rattling in your car, or the loose doorknob in the basement, or that light switch cover in the garage that moves because the screw isn’t tight. You think, “I’ll come back and take care of that.” But next time you walk by, the same thing happens. Why? Because you can’t take care of it when you notice it.

EDC Keychain Screwdrivers

One of the most valuable EDC (every day carry) items you can own is a keychain screwdriver set. There are many different kinds on the market, but they are all relatively cheap and relatively compact and therefore easy to add to your keychain.

Some of the links in this post are “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, Ordinary Outdoorsman will receive an affiliate commission.

This is what I carry. It’s small, but not so small that my fat fingers can’t handle it or that it can’t handle a bigger job when called upon. It comes as a set including flat and Phillips.

There is an even more compact version available if you want to keep your keychain lighter. This version won’t access a screw in a recessed hole, but it’s still pretty handy. It also features both flat and Phillips heads.

Or, if you want something a little more aggressive, check out this bracelet version that boasts multiple sizes and shapes besides just flat and Phillips. It looks good, but as a warning, it is pricey!

How about you? What absolutely invaluable tool do you carry every day?
