When it comes to EDC tools, the sky is the limit! There are so many out there and the prices can be outlandishly expensive.

EDC tools are one of my weaknesses…especially pocket knives. Fortunately my innate cheapness counters my desire to spend all my spare cash on these gadgets.

The reality is that the average outdoorsman can’t afford to buy all the newest, top-of-the-line gear. There’s just too much! Between fishing and camping and hiking and hunting, etc., you can easily go broke (or worse, make your spouse REALLY mad).

The good news is that there are plenty of EDC items that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Here’s a list of items you can order right now that won’t break the bank or upset your spouse.

10 EDC tools for around $10 or less*

1. Keychain screwdriver set

When it comes to EDC, a screwdriver is one of the more useful tools in any situation. I personally carry this set of Philips and flat screwdrivers on my person every day. I use mine on a near daily basis. [Buy on Amazon]

2. SOG key knife

I never go anywhere without a knife (except on an airplane). In fact I am usually carrying at least 2 knives with me on a daily basis…a small, discrete one and a larger clip folding knife. There are three discrete knifes that I rotate between, and this is one. [Buy on Amazon]

3. Gerber Curve

This is the other discrete knife that I often carry, though it has the bonus of including a couple of other tools with it. The small carabiner style clip also functions as a bottle opener. [Buy on Amazon]

4. TacPilot paracord survival bracelet

This isn’t your ordinary bracelet. This little buckle has an emergency whistle, a compass, and a flint fire start all in one! This one is definitely going on my wish list! [Buy on Amazon]

5. Firestach mini lighter

I don’t have one of these but I want one! This is one you might not carry everyday, but rather on outdoor adventures like camping and hiking. It is so small! [Buy on Amazon]

6. Gerber GDC Zip Blade

This is another item on my “want” list. A small, discrete knife that you can attach to your zipper whether that’s on your coat, jacket, or backpack. [Buy on Amazon]

7. Gerber Shard

This tool is one of those more unusual and specific tools. It is a different take on the screwdriver/bottle opener multitool theme. [Buy on Amazon]

8. Nite Ize DoohicKey

This tool, with a bottle opener, screw driver, and wrench can easily clip on your key ring and go with you everywhere. Nite Ize makes some pretty handy S shaped carabiners and other inexpensive gadgets. [Buy on Amazon]

9. Ezyoutdoor Stool Mountain Buckle Carabiner

This one just looks cool! Open bottles, use as a wrench or screwdriver, or even as a carabiner or key chain. [Buy on Amazon]

10. C-Pioneer EDC stainless steel pocket mini tool/knife

This small knife intrigues me. I am very much a fan of the open frame style as it makes the blade thinner and lighter. In fact I have several open frame knives. I can’t vouch for this one personally, but I like the fact that it is roughly the size as the keys on your key ring. [Buy on Amazon]

How about you? Do you have a favorite EDC tool that cost less than $10?
